Retroreflexión VI - por/by David Lethei

____
The problem nowadays is not the politic,
but the politicians

Sembradores - por/by David Lethei

Nosotros, los sembradores                 We, the seeders

Compañeros, amigos, se cruzan hoy          Comrades, friends, today our roads
nuestros caminos                                   are crossed;
no cesaremos                                        we shall not cease
de pedalear                                           the everlasting pedaling.

nos hermana la vieja causa                      It bonds us the old cause
de los comprometidos                            of the committed ones
los que nunca flaquearon                        those, that never wavered
ni dejaron de andar                                and neither ceased to keep walking.

somos cientos de miles                          We´re hundreds of thousands
los que mirando a la cara                        those who sustain the glance
aún solemos hablar                                when we speak

los que cambiando nosotros                    that in the act of changing ourselves
seguimos creyendo                                still we believe
que al mundo podemos cambiar               that we can change the world.

pues cuando cesen                                Because when they cease
los viejos hombres                                 the bitter old men
mil de millones                                       thousand of millions
nos seguirán                                         will follow us

por las calles del mundo                          through the streets of the world
henos miríada de voces                           we´re myriad of voices
cantamos de una política                         already all singing
de segundo orden                                  of a second-order politic

nosotros poetas                                     we, poets
ciudadanos del mundo                            citizens of the world
seamos el Hombre que despierta               let us be the man who wakes
de esta desidia abismal                            of this abysmal apathy

seamos volcán que intrauterino                 we shall be intrauterine volcanoe
sacuda hábil y transmute                         one that will brake and transmute
esta global fatalidad                                this global fatality

para que así cuando cesemos                   so that, when we´ll be gone
nosotros viejos, por nuestra grey              we the old ones, because of our flock
millar de millones                                    a billion
podamos ser.                                         shall we be.

Compañeros, amigos                               Comrades, friends
nuestros caminos                                   our roads
se cruzan hoy                                        now intersect.

hemos sido llamados                              We are called
a contar la Historia                                 to tell the History
de los días que vendrán                          of the days to come

henos aquí convocados                           here we are reunited
a trascender el odio                                to transcend hatred
que es tan hoy día habitual                      that is so common today

salgamos juntos                                     let us go out together
a pedalear, a marchar                               let us pedal and let us march
por la humanidad                                    for the sake of mankind

porque está llamado                                ´cause it have been summoned
a sembrar futuro                                     to plant the future
nuestro seguro andar                              our certain ride.

compañeros, amigos                                Colleagues, friends
pedaleros, estudiantes                             cyclers and students
sigamos siempre adelante                         let us always follow later
porque de nuestras banderas                    because of our flags
y de nuestras quimeras                            and our chimeras
que hermoso futuro                                 what a beautiful future
habrá de brotar,                                      will sprout,

pues hemos sido aunados                        for we have been united
el día de hoy convocados                        this day we are convened
a no dejar de sembrar.                             to allow to the seed become tree.

Epístola a los Transeúntes / Epistle to the Transients

Lúgubre isla me alumbrará continental,

sufriendo como sufro del lenguaje directo del león;

I resume my day of a rabbit,
my night of an elephant in repose.

And, to myself, I say:

this is my immensity in the raw, in jugfuls,
this is my graceful weight,
that sought me below to become a bird;
this is my arm that on its own refused to be a wing,
these are my scriptures,
these my alarmed cullions.

A lugubrious island will illuminate me continental,

while the capitol leans on my intimate collapse
and the lance-filled assembly adjourns my parade.

But when I die

from life and not from time,
when my two suitcases become two,
this will be my stomach in which my lamp fit in pieces,
this that head that atoned for the torments of the circle in my steps,
these those worms that my heart counted one by one,
this will be my solidary body
over which the individual soul is watching: this will be
my navel in which I killed my innate lice,
this my thing thing, my dreadful thing.

Meanwhile, convulsively, harshly,

my bit convalesces,
suffering like I suffer the direct language of the lion:
and, because I have existed between two brick potentates,
I too convalesce, smiling at my lips
.

de esos nuestros hijos aún por nacer;
esta es la fecha por tanto anunciada
hoy henos a víspera del horror
mañana los muertos arriban al templo
por vernos paridos al nuevo dolor;
mañana avecina el abismo abierto
mañana los vivos mueren sin morir
mañana el ahora será testamento
mañana el mañana veremos partir
esta es la noche de la no-noche
desde mañana ni mundo
ni en pos devenir.

______

tomorrow

This is the night of the no-night, this
is the day that ceases of being
here it begins the eternal blood
of those our children not yet born;
this is the date for so long announced
today we are here at the eve of the horror
tomorrow the dead arrive to the temple
to see us given to birth, and delivered to the pain;
tomorrow approaches the open abyss
tomorrow the livings die without dying
tomorrow the nowadays shall be testament
tomorrow, the tomorrow will be gone
this is the night of the no-night
from tomorrow on, neither world
neither ahead, nothing more.

si trasciende a la palabra, se vuelve política de segundo orden;

indivisibles y no tan sólo
como una mera suma de individuos...
despiertos a que nuestros actos y no actos irrevocablemente
impactarán en las vidas de nuestros semejantes;

 N A M A S T E

all forms of art, enriches the soul
if they´re conceived for the growth of the society
instead of the exaltation of the individual,
they become a social effort;
each social effort is a politic effort of a different kind,
it develops itself pursuing the transformation of reality,
and when the art is born as a tool to heal and to heal others
that therapy reaches us all...
whatever its measure or its origin, its scope or its finality
there's no art that don't be transpersonal.

The fact of proceed with that conviction,
allow us the return to the sense of ourselves,
in a way that enable us, perhaps, rediscover
that we are not the sum of mere individuals
but that our actions and no-actions are irrevocably
connected to the lives of our similar ones...
therefore vital becomes that the course of our acts get to illuminate
instead of destroying,
get to sow
the daily poetry...

the art work, far of being mere throne for the egolatry
shall be the language of the crowds,
that everywhere, outbreak the luminous gift
which we are here to share

this life that belongs to us all
that don't elapse without a collective meaning
let's make of it, the vast miracle
that permits us today,
to be sharing this everlasting instant.

Unsere Sprache,
ist nicht die Sprache.

Und diese Wörter,
die uns jetzt einigen,
fügen uns zusammen
in diesem Gedicht.
Aber wir sind nicht,
weder waren wir,
jemals dieses
Gedicht gewesen.

a ti no te sueña.

Eres,
porque puedo hablar
de ti a mí;
nuestro lenguaje,
no es el idioma.

Y estas palabras
que ahora nos unen
nos constituyen unidos
en este poema;
pero no somos ni fuimos
este poema.

For the blue growing, white flower.

You are more, than the water word.
Dreaming I awake, about the skies.
Even though, you are more than them.
You penetrate that same word, dreaming;
the dreaming, however,
does not dream you.

You are,
because I can speak from you to me.
Our language,
is not the language.

And now these words
which unite us,
add us together
in this poem.
But we are not, neither we were,
ever this poem.
