Mis silencios / My silences - por/by Tamara Luque

Si he de silenciar algo

y entonces existirán quienes no me reconozcan

My silences

I got bored of my silences.
I got bored of the wandering ideas within my head and are unable to make any noise.
I got bored of the opinions that I’ve never said because I’ve been afraid of not being accepted.
I got bored of the questions that this fear haven´t allowed me to express.
I got bored of the discussions that I´ve never started just for not losing the usual company.

If I shall silence something
let them be, my childish fears
let them be, my rooted insecurities
let it be, that part of me that hinders my freedom to do and be.

And I don’t want, once for all, to feel oppressed by this paranoia;
because the solitude that my childish part is so afraid of
isn’t real and it’ll never be,
because already there are people who love me
even knowing me well,
because it will always exist
people who accept me as I am.

So let them be close to me, those who want to accept me
even with my different opinions,
even with my irrational dreams,
even with my deranged desires.

And my aim is not to be afraid of solitude again
to finally understand that exposing my thoughts doesn´t mean  to expose my weaknesses
and that if there is any weakness, all of us have at least one.

My silences have to be my reflexive partners
and not the walls that protect me from dangers that don´t exist.

But, while I´m writing this, I feel trapped
between protecting and offering myself  to be loved
How much conflict can I bear inside?

If I explode I´ll shout,
but if I scream to the winds, many things will change
and the people from now, may not recognize me afterwards.
In spite of that, perhaps then and only then, I´ll feel more real
in such a way, that the world has never seen before.

Aprender / To learn - por/by Yessenia Cáceres

APRENDER

Aprender.
Aprendí a que deseando lo que tenía la otra, o criticándola no iba a ser más bonita;

TO LEARN

To learn.
And I learnt, I learnt that I don’t have a turned-up nose.
I learnt that perhaps I don’t fit in a little T-shirt.
I learnt that wanting what others have
or criticizing them it wouldn´t become me in someone prettier.
I learnt that others have the eyes that I like, and that others fit better in their clothing...
I learnt that looking myself in the mirror was only a mean to fit in what others wanted of me.
I learnt that I’ll never be able to picture me as I am, because if I do, I lose myself.
I learnt that my body is mine and that I can use it as I want.
I learnt that in the curve of my hip, your hands match.
I learnt that with or without make-up, you stare at me anyway,
making me feel beautiful with that glow in your eyes.
I learnt that within my chest, the best lullabies dwell.
I learnt that you love me,
and that you do it not just because,
but because I love myself.

Me voy a menstruar
Entre hierbas, tierra y viento

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
A paso desnudo
En trino valiente

Soy hija del sol
Soy hija de la luna
La que llena la marmita
De agua y alimento

La que pone a cocer
Sobre fúlgido fuego
Y maderos fogosos
La memoria primitiva

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
Memoria, que se ofrenda
Vertiendo, memoria

Sobre semillas en la tierra
Sobre roca, llama y río
A la brisa de la rama
En caricia constante
En voz azulada

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
Entre los dedos
Inaugurando silencio
Papel agitado
Cotidianidad abierta

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
La política del cuerpo
Poética instintiva
Tejiendo pasos
Madres antiguas
Desheredando paradigma
De territorio fatal,
De horizonte inverosímil,
De lo desconocido del más allá

Tejiendo pasos
Abuelas infinitas
Reconociendo al paisaje
En el paso cotidiano,
Este aire afectivo
De adentro hondo
Del más acá

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
A hacer política en un abrazo
En tiempo que se abre alado
Emplumado
Como follaje que brota
En las ramas del árbol

¡Hambre de memoria
En nuestros cuerpos!
Como si el amor fuera eso:
Un cruce de caminos.

Me voy a la quebrada
Me voy a menstruar
Y kultrún en las manos
En los pies
En el eco
Y kultrún en el corazón
En el vientre cantando.
